Mr. Shields lives and works in Centennial, CO. Martial arts is still his favorite activity, however, he is very active in golf, archery, biking, walking/jogging, and cardio kickboxing. Mr. Shields began his Taekwondo career in 1994 with Mr. Eddie Afyoni in Parker, CO and has been teaching at the same location in Centennial, CO since 1999. His most notable accomplishments in Taekwondo was winning the 1999 Sparring World Champ title in the Men’s, 40-44 2nd Degree Division, and the 2006 XMA (Xtreme Martial Arts) Weapons Title. He has also successfully participated on, and coached demo teams within the region. When asked what he loves most about martial arts, he responds with, "The feeling of satisfaction when someone tells me that I told them something or helped them with something that they were able to use successfully." "However," he adds that "the thrill of competition runs a very close second."
