Taekwondo in Centennial
Taekwondo literally translates into “The way of the hand and foot”. Although it is a relatively new martial arts form, it’s roots are over 1,000 years old originating in Korea around 50 b.c. Although it began simply, it has grown to become one of the most popular martial arts forms in the world today. Taekwondo is a non-aggressive, ethical and fun martial art. Its style focuses on physical fitness and mental discipline while allowing its students an effective way to defend themselves if needed. It is famous for its array of kicks and breaking power (boards and bricks), but also for its practice of forms and sparring. An attractive piece of the Taekwondo puzzle for many parents is the use of life skills to develop students with amazing discipline and ethics.
